Your Solar Home-Case Studies

SolarSheat CaseStudy 1a SolarSheat CaseStudy 1b The heat coil in the furnace is supplemented by a large 600 gallon tank, boiler and the HRV is connected to the solar air collector. This facilitates solar air and liquid heating with supplementation by a commercial boiler (NTI).
A southern 10 kw solar air collection was added to the outside brick wall. The wall was matched to the colour of the building to allow for aesthetic building integration. This would provide upstairs heat and ventilation throughout the residence. The wall was connected to the air return to the solar furnace.

Four Chromagen CR-120 collectors were added along with two banks of ThermoMax collectors to a large angled mount facing south. This is the primary solar liquid heating system for the large storage tank inside the residence. These collectors also provide heating for the new pool in the backyard. Lastly a small grid tied 1.4 kw photo voltaic array (background) was added for offpeak season electricity use. This provides the owner with a savings during the weeks he isn't home. The primary focus of this project was heating and ventilation. Your Solar Home Inc. contracted this electrical component to a reputable solar PV dealer.
